What we're hearing in our Redesign and Reinvest conversations
BPS posts 'Redesign and Reinvest' survey results online

This summer and fall, Boston Public Schools is asking for your thoughts as part of our ongoing effort to rapidly improve student achievement and provide access to a high-quality education for every student in the city. "Redesign and Reinvest" will expand the number of seats available to students in our most successful programs, while merging and possibly closing other programs for the fall of 2011. In order to make more progress that works for all of our students and families, we need to hear from you.
In late June, BPS held a "Neighborhood Day of Dialogue" with meetings at 17 locations across the city to hear feedback from parents and students. We have also posted an online survey on this website in English and Spanish that asks the same questions presented at the Day of Dialogue. The feedback we have received so far has guided our thinking as we head toward late September, when BPS will post an initial draft proposal on this website just after we present it to the School Committee in an evening public meeting. Please visit our Redesign and Reinvest website today at http://www.bostonpublicschools.org/redesign for complete, real-time information on our survey results, future meetings and updates on the planning process.
This fall, BPS will use the Redesign and Reinvest site to share maps, data and even notes from our community meetings so everyone has time to look at initial drafts and offer suggestions several weeks before a School Committee vote in late October or November. Please visit the Redesign and Reinvest site for more information, including the complete report from every one of the 17 community meetings BPS held throughout the summer.
Thank you!
