DETAILS: Visit the Philbrick Elementary School tomorrow and you’ll think you’re on a college campus. As part of Boston Public Schools’ College Month activities, children at the Philbrick will swap their regular school uniforms for those of college students, thanks to a month-long outreach effort to collect a college t-shirt for each student as a way of helping them begin to see college as an achievable goal for them. Decked out in college gear donated by colleges and individuals from around the country, the children will gather for a college-themed morning assembly featuring student performances and presentations, including “College Rap” and “College Step/Cheer,” as well as a visit from Mayor Menino who will talk with students about his experiences at UMass/Boston.
