BOSTON - The Patrick O'Hearn Elementary School in Dorchester recently received a $5,000 gift in memory of Mark Charbonnier by his family and friends. Mark Charbonnier, a Dorchester native, was a Massachusetts State Trooper who was killed in the line of duty in 1994.

The gift will be used to purchase instructional materials for the kindergarten classroom as well to as purchase assistive technology for students with disabilities in the other classrooms.

The O'Hearn is an inclusive school in Dorchester serving 235 students from diverse backgrounds in early childhood through grade 5. Students involved in general education, students with a wide range of disabilities, and students considered talented and gifted learn together and from each other.
