Economics and Business Academy teacher selected for national science award
BOSTON - Diana Christian, a science teacher at the Economics and Business Academy in Dorchester, has been chosen as one of two teachers from the Boston-Cambridge area for the 2004 Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence. She will receive her award at an awards dinner tomorrow night.
According to their website, the Amgen awards honor public or private school science teachers, grades K-12, who demonstrate outstanding science teaching and have a great impact on the lives of their students.
The honor also provides an unrestricted $10,000 stipend.
Economics and Business Academy Headmaster Jack Leonard congratulated Ms. Christian on her award.
"Diana Christian has been a remarkable teacher since the day she walked in here three years ago. She has been a leading force in revolutionizing our science department. I'm so glad she won this award."
