Boston School Committee Member Marchelle Raynor named to All-State School Committee
BOSTON - Marchelle Raynor, Vice-Chair of the Boston School Committee, has been honored as a 2002 All-State School Committee Member by the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC).
Ms. Raynor was selected as this year's honoree from the Boston metropolitan division, which includes 48 school districts. She was nominated by Paul Schlichtman, Chair of the Arlington School Committee.

The award was presented to Ms. Raynor at the MASC's recent Annual Conference in Worcester by MASC President Rosemary Sandlin, who cited Ms. Raynor's leadership in promoting parent involvement in the Boston Public Schools.
MASC Executive Director Glen Koocher said, "This honor recognizes Marchelle's contributions to the children of Boston, both through her years of service on the School Committee and through the many activities in which she participates as an advocate for children."
Ms. Raynor, who has been a member of the Boston School Committee since 1999, co-chaired the Committee's Family and Community Engagement Task Force. She lives in Roxbury and works as a Social Services Mental Health Supervisor at the Gertrude E. Townsend Head Start in Dorchester.
