BPS Citywide Middle School Boys’ Conference
Boston Public Schools Office of Special Education and Related Services, in collaboration with Boston College, will host this special event on Saturday, June 6, 2009, 8:00 a.m – 3:00 p.m.. The conference attracts hundreds of adolescent males, ranging from grades six through eight, to come together and learn from each other as well as from confident, accomplished professionals. Giving boys the opportunity to listen and interact with successful professionals is a fantastic way to help them consider more positive options for themselves in the future. This year, we want to cover topics such as teen dating, violence prevention, self esteem, school and career options, decision making, anger management, hip hop music, building a value system, respect, and health & physical fitness, and more. We want our students to learn how to make responsible decisions that promote healthy lifestyles. The day will be filled with education, love, and support from one generation to the next.
