Career and Technical Education Programs in the Boston Public Schools

Career & Technical Education is a program of study that provides students with the skills needed fo r careers in growing employment sectors. Upon graduation, Career and Technical Education students may enter employment, apprenticeship, one-year or two-year college degree or certificate programs, four-year college degree programs or other post-secondary training.

Career and Technical Education provides hands-on applied learning that build academic knowledge, problem solving skills, general employment skills and specific career skills.

Students who are residents of Boston and are interested in a Career/Vocational Education Program not offered in the Boston Public Schools may apply to schools out side of the district.   Students seeking admission for the upcoming school year must complete an application. 

These applications must be signed by the receiving school and the parent/guardian and delivered to the Boston Public Schools, Career and Technical Education office by April 1st. 

Students outside of the Boston Public School district must apply for admission to Career & Technical Vocational Education Programs by
March 1st for consideration for the upcoming school year.  Applications are available in the Career & Technical Education Office.
