  • There are also four newly certified Seven Habits Teen facilitators who will be offering workshops and trainings to students this year
  • Summer Internships – Fifteen young people successfully completed paid internships at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, Simon C. Fireman Specialized Housing and Boston Medical Center.  An additional twenty-four students completed the “Community Voices – a Photo Essay of Health Disparities” Program.  Date for student presentations at Northeastern TBA.

On-Going Initiatives

  • Early Nursing Initiatives – Secondary and Post-Secondary:  Representatives who sponsor the numerous early nursing initiatives for Boston’s high school will be collaborating this year so that all program information will be disseminated to schools via one document.  This should make student outreach and recruitment easier for staff and students.  Look for the recruitment document to be available by end of September.
  • Careers In Urban Nursing – 2009:   We will be outreaching to students interested in a career in Nursing at CASH, HCA, Odyssey, PATH, Brighton, East Boston, and Madison’s Medical Assistant Program starting in October

  • Bunker Hill’s STAND Program: Students will once again have an opportunity to participate in this college early nursing program.  East Boston High and Quincy Upper will join the school network this year.

  • Nursing Club @ U. Mass: The only program to offer experiences from both 10th and 11th graders.  A great way to start your nursing exploration.

  • Roxbury Community College: The collegewill also be offering an early nursing initiative this year.
